My Frui Adventure

I love holidays and I love photography so imagine my joy when I discovered there was a travel company that combine the two, allow me to introduce you to Frui! Before Frui I had never been on vacation alone, but I had always felt guilty when holidaying with friends or partners when I took myself off to photograph things and places they had no interest in but Frui is amazing for photographers as you are put together with a group of people with a shared passion, and you can shoot until your heart is content or memory cards are full (whichever comes first!)
My first Frui adventure was to Africa for a safari, it was their fist trip to South Africa and Botswana, their website has more details on the trip if you are interested click here! I went on this trip for the purpose to shoot wildlife, and it really did not disappoint. The safari gods must have favoured me, because minutes into our first game drive I met these beautiful lions basking in the morning sunrise.
I still need to figure out what I am going to do with the photos… I want to do a photo book as we captured so many animals! The young male lion above was my favorite shot of the trip, I have printed it on to fine art paper, framed and hung it in my bedroom, it is the first and last thing I see every day 🙂
The bonus of going with an organised tour group like Frui is you get access to a professional photography tutor to help you with any photography questions, it is not intense and doesn’t matter if you are a total beginner or professional, you are free to use the expert advice and lessons of the tutor as much or little as you want.
Personally I enjoyed the lessons as it gave me direction of what to shoot, but as you can see from my selection of images I have picked to share in this blog post, the wildlife was what stole the majority of my attention on the trip!
I took so many pictures on the trip, and still need to find time to edit most of them, which is great as I am still coming across gems I didn’t realise I had… my latest find is this group of elephants crossing the road whilst we drove back from a visit to the local village. The original image was a lot darker and exposed to the sky so I had to adjust the levels to make the elephants more visible and pop, it was a magical moment that I am so glad I caught on camera.

I loved my Frui experience so much that I have actually booked to go on another trip with them to India in November, so watch out for my photos from that 🙂 In the mean time if you want to see more of the behind the scenes of what my African Frui adventure was like I saved my insta-stories in an album which can be viewed here!
You got some wonderful pictures. My favorites are the young male lion (exquisite) and the family of elephants crossing the road. Well done!

Eeeek thank you ever so much – I wasn’t expecting anyone to have found my page just yet and published these early blog posts with no words to try and figure out the website design, but it was a lovely surprise that you did!
